The MAR3D project is off to an exciting start, and we are delighted to share our latest progress and achievements. Since the project’s launch on 1 October 2024, our team has made significant strides in laying the groundwork for this transformative initiative.
One of the most notable accomplishments has been the development of detailed 3D models representing critical elements of a ship’s enclosed and hazardous spaces. These include safety equipment, personal protective gear, and realistic ship interiors, designed to offer seafarers an authentic and immersive training experience. By collaborating closely with maritime experts, we have ensured that these models meet the highest industry standards.
In addition, the foundational concept for the MAR3D VR environment has been finalised. This concept integrates cutting-edge VR technology with user-centric design principles to create a training platform that is both practical and engaging. With the optimisation process for these 3D assets already underway, we are on track to deliver a seamless and high-quality VR environment.
Looking ahead, we are preparing to conduct rigorous system testing to ensure the functionality, usability, and safety of the MAR3D platform. This critical phase will involve close collaboration with stakeholders to gather feedback and implement improvements, further enhancing the user experience.
